Compared to additive manufacturing techniques for rapid prototyping, CNC had advantages of target & cheap materials, tight tolerance and smooth milled surface, this allowed CNC to deliver more reliable verification on mechanism and strength. The majority of exported prototypes made in China were functional ones for fitting test.
